The Grow into Reading book challenge is in full swing and we are excited to finish our challenge with Literacy Night on Thursday, March 9th. One of the most popular events of Literacy Night is the book walk. To make this successful, please consider donating any gently used books that your kiddo no longer needs. You can drop them off in the box at the front entrance to the school by Monday, March 6th. Thanks for your support and happy reading!

Just a reminder that the deadline for nominations is February 22nd! One of our favorite events of the year is the Tribute to Teachers award celebration sponsored by St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation. We love it because it recognizes and honors our outstanding teachers for their excellence in teaching. Please help by nominating a Twin Peaks teacher who you believe exemplifies excellence for a Teacher of the Year Award. Visit St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation's website at https://stvrainfoundation.org/programs/tribute-to-teachers/ for the nomination form. Were you ever taught to annotate? Note taking while reading is helpful in forming original ideas and questions. When we write and acknowledge our thoughts, questions, and opinions, readers are able to better discuss the material with others. At Twin Peaks, we not only read great literature, we develop our students' ability to interact with and learn from those around them- a skill that seems to be disappearing from our society. Come check out what makes our program so unique at Twin Peaks Classical Academy!

Senior Night! It is impressive that Twin Peaks students are able to study the rigorous material we expect and participate in athletics. We took time to honor our seniors on Friday for their committment to such demands. Our girls basketball team won 47-11 and our boys won 49-22.

We cleaned up the north lot and driveline to return to “normal.” A few gentle reminders: The South/Secondary lot is not a drop-off/pick-up zone. It’s for deliveries, rubbish removal, busses with partner schools and visitors. That lot is not supervised either. Handicap spaces are for those individuals with plates or placards. Those spaces are not for a quick drop-off and pick-up! And kids, don’t be like the Mr. Mehsling; stay off of the ice bergs!
