Second graders and fifth graders had a popping good time exploring rockets Thursday afternoon.
John Pinder, Kindergarten, was acknowledged at the Board of Directors meeting last night for his embodiment of what it means to be Twin Peaks Timberwolf.
Mikah Sickau and Noah Stadler were named Charter Champions last night by the Colorado League of Charter Schools. We are so proud of these students and their dedication to Twin Peaks!
The Grow into Reading book challenge is in full swing and we are excited to finish our challenge with Literacy Night on Thursday, March 9th.
One of the most popular events of Literacy Night is the book walk. To make this successful, please consider donating any gently used books that your kiddo no longer needs. You can drop them off in the box at the front entrance to the school by Monday, March 6th.

Friday brought the annual staff chili cook off and also Fairy Tale Day in Kindergarten. Ball gowns are always appropriate attire at Twin Peaks, even while eating chili!
Monday, February 27th is class picture day for preschool and elementary classes. Students should wear uniforms for these pictures. Flyers went home in Thursday folders and there is a link below for ordering online.

Our first week of reading buddies! Older students paired with younger students to read books together!
We kicked off the Reading Challenge at an assembly this week and it's is in full swing! Remember to have your child record their name, book title and teacher's name on the leaf or fruit that represents their grade. The first prize, hat day, will occur on February 24th. Your teacher will let you know if your student's class has earned the prize.
Here are the weekly reading goals by grade:
Preschool- 3 books per student
Kindergarten- 20 books
1st Grade- 35 books
2nd Grade- 40 books
3rd Grade- 1 book per student
4th Grade- 2 books per student
5th Grade- 1 book per student, 150+ pages
And don't forget to mark your calendars for literacy night on Thursday, March 9th. We are so excited to be back in person this year. You won't want to miss out!

The PTO will host a Uniform Exchange and Sale this Friday, 2/10, after school in the cafeteria. Bring in your gently used uniforms and / or stock up for the spring!

Senior Night!
It is impressive that Twin Peaks students are able to study the rigorous material we expect and participate in athletics. We took time to honor our seniors on Friday for their committment to such demands.
Our girls basketball team won 47-11 and our boys won 49-22.
We cleaned up the north lot and driveline to return to “normal.” A few gentle reminders: The South/Secondary lot is not a drop-off/pick-up zone. It’s for deliveries, rubbish removal, busses with partner schools and visitors. That lot is not supervised either. Handicap spaces are for those individuals with plates or placards. Those spaces are not for a quick drop-off and pick-up! And kids, don’t be like the Mr. Mehsling; stay off of the ice bergs!
