We would like introduce our amazing 5th grade team! They are enthusiastic about teaching fractions, ecology, the Civil War and The Secret Garden. And with the start of a new year, it is time once again to introduce our wonderful teaching staff. The first group we would like to recognize this year is our secondary science team. This team is dedicated to sharing the wonders of the natural world with their students. My name is Mrs. Sarah Kiesewetter, and I am delighted to join the Timberwolves as a Secondary Assistant Principal.
I was born and raised in Colorado (born in Vail), and spent much of my childhood hiking, camping, and stargazing in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I attended a small classical high school in Wheatridge, CO, then moved to California where I attended Thomas Aquinas College, a classical Great Books school. I graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, and later completed a course through the University of West Florida to become a certified school teacher. I completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through the American College of Education in July of 2022, and am a professionally licensed Principal in the State of Colorado. I served as the Dean of the Grammar School at Golden View Classical Academy for three years, and taught there both as a Fifth Grade Teacher and an Eighth Grade Literature Teacher since 2015. This will be my 16th year as an educator, and I am thrilled to be joining Twin Peaks in my next chapter. I am excited to be a part of a school that offers so much to our students both academically and in moral development. The richness and beauty of the classical curriculum are unparalleled.
My husband and I met in college and have been married for 20 years. We have five beautiful children, one of whom attends CU Boulder and is studying Speech Pathology, and one of whom will begin Ft. Lewis in Durango to study Sports Medicine. The other three are still school-aged, and we’re excited to be a part of a new classical community.
In my spare time I love to read (My favorite book is Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes), spend time with my family, hike, and in the winter months my family and I take advantage of every opportunity that we can to snowboard in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I am passionate about classical education for all students, and have made it my life’s work to provide the best books and the best ideas and conversation to anyone who seeks them. I love teaching and working with dedicated educators, and am committed to bringing my best every day.

As the school year approaches, we know you are planning and buying your back to school uniforms! We thought it would be a good time to send some reminders and updates. You can find the full K-8 and high school dress codes on our website here, https://www.twinpeaksclassical.org/page/dress-codes .
Some slight changes this year, we've added GREEN to the pants/skirts/shorts colors in order for students to participate in green pants Thursdays!
While not dress code, we have made a change with technology use. Smart watches are now falling under the same guidelines as cell phones and will need to be kept in backpacks and lockers during the course of the school day for all K-8 students. Thank you for helping us keep our classrooms distraction free!
These dress code items are not new, but with current fashion trends, they deserve a quick reminder! Pants need to be a front zipper and/or button-closure style pants, no leggings will be allowed as uniform pants. The dress code also states no denim and no jeans. We know this one can be tricky, so please make sure the pants appear to be uniform-style fabric and not faded or styled denim.
Our dress code is intended to bring out the best of our students and our community. Thank you for helping us have a great year! We can't wait to see everyone next week!
Evan Carroll is excited to join the Twin Peaks community as a Special Education teacher for grades 5 through 12. He brings a passion for creating interactive, engaging learning environments where every student feels supported and valued. Evan earned his degree in Anthropology from Colorado State University and recently moved to Berthoud with his wife and daughter. Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, skiing, and making music with his family. He’s proud to be a part of the Timberwolf team and looks forward to a great year ahead. Go Timberwolves!
Ms. Klenk is excited to be teaching 6th grade history at Twin Peaks! Originally from Colorado, she earned her degree from the University of Wyoming and has been sharing her love of learning in the classroom for the past few years. Ms. Klenk is passionate about making history come alive for her students and helping them connect with the past in meaningful ways. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and leaning into her artistic side through painting.
The Twin Peaks Classical Academy team is excited to see all your smiling faces return to school. To help you plan, we wanted to provide you with some important upcoming dates.
August 6th is Back to School night for Preschool and Kindergarten families from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
August 11th is Back to School Open House for all families. From 9:00 am to 11:00 am, we welcome families to join us for a new student orientation and open house. This is for any student new to the school as well as all 6th and 9th grade students.
August 11th at 11:00 am, we will have free lunch available in the south courtyard with hotdogs and chips for all of our families.
August 11th at 1:00 pm we will have the Open House for all other students and families. Please come meet teachers, pick up schedules, and grab a free back pack!
August 12th is the first day back for students in Preschool, Kindergarten group 1, and grades 1 through 12.
August 13th is the first day of school for students in Kindergarten group 2.
Doors will open at 7:40 am for the first two weeks of school through August 22nd and 7:45 am for the week of August 25th. After Labor Day, doors will open at 7:50 am.
August 27th is 1st through 5th grade back to school night at 6:00 pm.
