Welcome to Ms. Kane! She will be joining the Twin Peaks community this year as both a long-term orchestra substitute and a part-time orchestra teacher upon Ms. Ong's return! Regan Kane received a Bachelor of Arts from Drake University and a Masters of Music from the University of Colorado. In addition to receiving scholarship and the Frank Noyes Violin Award at Drake University, she was also a recipient of a full scholarship and TA position while studying chamber music with the world-renowned Takács String Quartet at the University of Colorado. She has been an active professional music educator for 22 years and a professionally performing musician for 27 years in the Front Range area. Living as a professional performing artist, she is a member of the Opera Colorado Orchestra and the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and regularly performs with the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. As a professional music educator, she is Co-founder of Flatirons Strings Academy as well as a violin/viola instructor since 2005. During the past twenty years, she has also served as the Conductor for Colorado Youth Symphony’s Sinfonia Orchestra; Director and Instructor of A MidSummer’s Day Dream String Camp; Clinician for Wyoming State String Clinic; Chamber Music Coach for Colorado Youth Symphony Chamber Music Camp and String Quartet Program of Northern Colorado; and String Orchestra Teacher for Peak to Peak Charter School. Besides her passion for music and education, Ms. Kane loves to ski, mushroom forage, and walk and bike to explore nature.
A big Timberwolf welcome to our new High School English teacher, Ms. Lovely! Ms. Lovely is originally from Fort Collins, and she is excited to return to Northern Colorado from Arizona. She studied history at Grand Canyon University, and attended the Leadership and the American Presidency Program through The Ronald Reagan Institute and George Mason University in Washington D.C. Ms. Lovely spent the past year teaching Humane Letters at a Great Hearts Academy in Phoenix, Arizona. The years prior she worked for the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools with its Strategic Development team, as well as with the Academic and Career Excellence Center at Grand Canyon University as the Expert Writing LEAD. Ms. Lovely attended a classical charter school from elementary through high school in Northern Colorado, and she understands the rigors and beauty of a classical education. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Lovely enjoys spending time with friends and family, enjoying the Colorado seasons (particularly fall), and shopping at Trader Joe’s. She loves chai and sweater weather, especially when they are accompanied by a good book. She is thrilled to be back in Northern Colorado teaching English at Twin Peaks!

Throwback to the end of our spring semester, when Personal Finance students participated in a cost of living game using real world scenarios!
All Twin Peaks high school students take Personal Finance to think about how to use their money responsibly.
Here's a throwback to one of our favorite Twin Peaks traditions:
At the end of the semester, middle school students join high schoolers in small group discussions surrounding the nature of fortitude. In order to develop ideas, students are drawing on their readings from History and English, making observations, and wrestling with what's necessary for fortitude to form within an individual and/or a community. It's become a tradition that we have cross-grade discussions in preparation for finals week, and we are always amazed at the level of engagement our students bring to these explorations. Proud day to be a Timberwolf!
